Use Your Senses
Take a moment to look at your scenes when you reread your manuscript and see if you covered all of the appropriate senses. Notice that I did not say “all of the senses”, you do not want to create a sensory overload, but you do want to make sure that you cover your bases.

Definitely makes your writing more real to your readers.

Yep, you got it Chris. An added benefit is that it makes the story more real to the writer as well. This makes it easier to stay on track when writing. You’ll know if you added something that just doesn’t fit or if your dialog just isn’t how your main character would talk because you’re right there in the story.
