A couple contests, an anthology, and a couple other markets…

So, get your name out there, but don’t forget to follow the submission guidelines and be sure your work fits in with the fiction these guys have published in the past.

DarkHart Press is now OPEN for NOVEL submissions

We will be paying 1¢ per word and a copy of the anthology. We prefer stories under 6,000 words. Payment will be upon publication. Also, please indicate in your email to WHICH anthology your are submitting.

East Of The Web Short Stories: open submission site on the look-out for fresh new voices

East of the Web is keen to provide exposure for writers by offering them a place where their work will be seen and read in a high quality, respected setting. The site receives about half a million unique page views per month, so successful submissions are likely to be viewed by more readers than in almost any other short story publication. In addition, the site receives attention from agents, the press, film makers, schools, universities and other publishers.

National Space Society Announces RETURN TO LUNA: A Short Story Science Fiction Contest

WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Science Fiction stories that show the adventure of lunar settlement. We want to feel the romance of life there, the wonder of the lunar frontier, of its magnificent desolation. We prefer near future (50 to 150 years from now), realistic stories about human lunar settlement. We want good characterization and well-written, tight prose. We want to feel what it’s like to live on the Moon.

Wordclay Short Story Contests Now Open

Announcing the official open of both the Wordclay Single Short Story and the Short Story Collection contests. As of 11 a.m. today, April 2, 2008, you can send our readers your stories and cover letters for a chance to win cash, publishing packages as well as copies of the Wordclay Anthology Best Modern Voices, in which the 15 story finalists will appear in Volume 2.

LIT Submission Guidelines

Some folks at AWP asked about submission guidelines, so now is a good time to update you. LIT is currently accepting submissions through May 15th. After that, please wait until September 1st, or your work will be discarded. Send your submissions of poetry, fiction and nonfiction.

Call for submissions: Iris Print

We’re looking for stories for our next short fiction anthology! This anthology (currently unnamed) will have a theme of folklore, fairy tales, and fantasy. Stories should be between 3,000 and 12,000 words, and should have a clear element of myth and mysticism. Of course, this is a boys’ love anthology, so stories must include an element of male/male romance or eroticism.

Best of luck to you and don’t forget about little ol’ One Real Story
