I love when my readers participate, but in the future it would be more beneficial to all the readers if the flash fiction was actually posted here for all to read. Keep up the good work.
Thank you.

Tzipi lived near Eilat, Israel’s port on the Red Sea, and she liked to go down to one of the beaches on the outskirts of the resorts on Sunday mornings and watch the pelicans. She didn’t know why she liked pelicans; she just did. Her father had been taking her down to watch them since she was a little girl, and she rarely missed a Sunday with good weather to go down and see them, even as an adult. On this particular morning, however, she came upon a disturbing sight. There were no live pelicans there, but there were dead birds everywhere. How did this happen? Tzipi wondered. Somebody must have done this. But who? And why? As she looked off into the distance of the sea, she saw a large ship. Then she remembered: The Americans had been patrolling the Red Sea for several weeks. It was part of their long-term plans for a permanent military presence in the region. Had they done this? Tzipi asked herself. She could think of no reason why. After all, the Americans were the Israelis’ friends. A cool breeze blew by and Tzipi shivered a little. She remembered that she’d learned at university that ancient prophets used to read the motions of birds to tell the future. This motion — or lack of motion — she guessed would have boded poorly.

Great, thanks you MSK. This a perfect flash fiction example. Feel free to send in a short story or two and become a contributing author to One Real Story. Just head over to the submissions page and send in your best.
Keep writing,

In response to the above message:
I have been entertaining the idea of publishing a special flash fiction edition of One Real Story in addition to the annual publication that includes all of One Real Story’s featured short stories.
Unfortunately, I have not had enough participation with the flash fiction prompts to do this. Regular submissions are always welcome and will be published in an annual print journal.
I would strongly encourage all my readers to participate in the flash fiction exercises so we can make the flash fiction edition a reality.
Come on and join in,
The Editor
