LGBT literature is a term for literature produced by people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. This genre includes literary works where the characters, plot lines or themes concern the gay and lesbian community. According to the Writer’s Digest gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender literature has officially positioned itself as a new and thriving market. This genre is listed among the top 100 markets for magazine and book writers. There are several new LGBT markets for writers looking to publish.
I’ve received several submissions in this literary genre. Not knowing a whole lot about it myself, I decided to post these works in an LGBT literature series and share these works with you. If you’re interested in submitting your LGBT piece, visit the submissions page, follow the guidelines, and simply indicate in your cover letter that you would like to participate in the LGBT series.
